The Footballing world is anxious to watch certain players and with the reality of injuries being a factor in these games, here we take a look at particular ones that could disturb the World Cup.

David Villa and Fernando Torres, Spain

After their success in Euro 2008, it is no doubt that Spain will want to flaunt that they are still the best. While the Spaniards never fail to entertain when it comes to football, two men in particular are the driving forces of their reputation.

Valencia's David Villa and Liverpool's Fernando Torres could easily be called the hottest strikers in the entire world. Both possessing incredible skill, the two men both come equipped with pace, balance, wisdom and a killer shot. Provided they remain in top physical condition, the world is in store for a display of goal scoring.

Didier Drogba, Ivory Coast

Although we have not yet witnessed an African side take over at a World Cup, this year will undoubtedly see a variety of talented, strong African sides step onto the fields.

One of which is Didier Drogba, a sharpshooter from Chelsea who took the Golden Boot at the English Premier League campaign in 2009/2010.

The African's love excitingly fast and powerful football and with the addition of Drogba, Les Les Éléphants will be a difficult team to beat.

Lionel Messi, Argentina

Small and dangerous. The Argentinian Lionel Messi is an animal in attack with his agile ability to slip through defenders at will.

Netting an amazing 45 goals so far this season, the 22 year old has been on a rampage for the Spanish giants Barcelona. Surely if he were to be injured Argentina would also suffer a weak attack.

Wayne Rooney, England

Wayne Rooney was Player of the Year for PFA Player's in 2009/2010 and he will most definitely lead the charge in England's attack. Many people believe that if he continues with this form he will very likely give England a real chance at winning the World Cup.

With his strength, aggression, and elegance as a striker he has achieved 34 goals this season and is quite easily the best player in the league. An injury to him would not only hinder England but the chance of the World Cup seeing one of the top athletes in all of football.
