1) Lower your stress level.
Through prayer and meditation, you can lower your stress level. There are studies that prove meditation and prayer to be very effective tool in reducing stress level. In fact, prayer and meditation have also been verified to alleviate some of the symptoms of cancer as well as other diseases that can be threatening to one's health.
2) Drink plenty of water.
The skin protects our body from diseases and other external factors that can harm us thus it is one of the most important organs of the body. The skin has to be kept healthy so it can keep up with its role. Water is vital in keeping the skin healthy. One should drink at least 8-12 glasses of water on a daily basis for the skin cells to function properly and heal in case of cuts, bruises, etc.
3) Get proper sleep.
Getting enough sleep, 8-10 hours, everyday is very important. Puffiness, circles under the eyes, broken capillaries will show in your skin if you don't get the proper 8-10 hours of sleep per day. Sleep can also reduce stress level thus can help keep your skin healthy.
4) Eat well.
Have a healthy diet and get proper nutrition. Junk foods can cause or worsen skin problems. Having a well balanced meal everyday has been proven to help alleviate skin problems. Eating fruits and vegetables in every meal is a plus.
5) Take vitamins to supplement your skin and body.

6) Properly clean your skin.
In cleaning your face, it is best that you use mild facial cleansers with 2% salicylic acid for the reason that some soap can be harsh to your skin. They can dry out your skin and even stimulate more production of sebum which can worsen acne. A mild facial cleanser with 2% salicylic acid has been proven effective in removing excess oil while maintaining the proper pH and keeping the skin hydrated.
7) Don't smoke.
Smoking makes you look older than your age; ten years older to be exact. You don't want to look that much older, do you? If you really want to have nicotine, try getting from nicotine gums or the patch. These can cure your craving while not putting your health at risk. There is no evidence of anyone developing cancer and any other lung diseases due to using nicotine gums.
8) Wear sunscreen.
There are several forms of melanoma and each of them is deadly. You may think that you will not have skin cancer because you are pretty healthy but you should also consider that fact that you are exposed to UV rays everyday. Yes, skin has keratonin that protects it from the sun's rays but that is no match for UV rays. Wearing sunscreen is way better than just staying in one corner feeling invulnerable and safe from skin cancer or any other skin diseases.
9) Treat yourself to a spa treatment at least once a year.
