Acer Neotouch P400 Makes Office Life Easy

The Acer neoTouch P400 is shaping up to be the phone of choice for young professionals. Formally introduced by Taiwan-based computer corporation Acer in the Mobile World Congress 2010, the mobile phone has its merits leaning towards office efficiency and several of its key features are focused on services that are essential to office-focused youth.

The neoTouch is a Hard Worker

The neoTouch does not really wow with its features but it is an efficient worker. With its fast Qualcomm 7227 600 MHz processor and the installed Windows Mobile 6.5.3, it gives the phone an excellent overall performance. Straight-out-of-the-box, the smart phone comes with a 256 MB RAM and a 512 MB ROM. There is micro USB support and it comes with a standard 3.5 mm audio jack.

The P400 will have 3G HSDPA network support as well as 2G quad band GSM, EDGE and GPRS. It will come with Bluetooth 2.1 with an A2DP feature and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g capable connectivity.

An accelerometer sensor is equipped to the neoTouch P400. It has an auto-rotate function that gives the smart phone an intuitive orientation adjustment depending on which direction the phone is tilted. A Digital Compass is also packed in.

On-the-Go Support

Internet Explorer 6 for mobile phones is installed in the neoTouch P400.The user can choose between two modes when browsing in IE6. There is the single column setting to limit side-to-side scrolling as well as a full screen view. Internet Explorer for mobile phones retains most of the traits IE for PC has such as Flash video streaming and social networking service integration. NeoTouch owners will never miss a Facebook status update ever again.

For on-the-go young professionals, Microsoft has pre-installed Microsoft Bing Search. Now what it does is save its users precious time by giving smart suggestions focused on four key travel topics: helpful health topics, where to go shopping, overall trip planning and locating stores and local establishments.

Looking Fresh in Any Environment

Hinting at the target market for this phone is its classy but youthful appearance. Overall, it really is a very attractive smart phone. The black and chrome finish topped with slightly tapered corners make the phone sleek. It is lightweight at only 125 grams and super thin at 12 mm thick. There are two battery covers which are interchangeable. One is black and finger-smudge proof while the other is a sophisticated high-gloss finish silver. Both fit snugly around the P400's sides to give it subtle hints of style.

Being a young professional's best friend, the Acer neoTouch P400 offers both web-based and automatic wireless synchronization with laptops. Calendar, contacts and documents as well as Microsoft Favorites are easily synced with a few taps.

Instant access to the Microsoft Marketplace also tops off the package, giving the users free-reign on new app or game downloads on the go.

All in all, the package is very practical for younger generation professionals. Although it does not carry the highest specs available in the market today, the phone is still packed to the brim with features to optimize office and travel activities.
